We are delighted to present a series of concerts across the UK. Details as follows:

IN LOVE WITH OPERA
Atkinson Theatre, Southport.

Heritage Opera returns to The Atkinson with a brand new programme of wonderful vocal music from the operatic and musical theatre world – In Love with Opera.

Heritage Opera, based in the Northwest and under the artistic direction of Merseyside girl Sarah Helsby Hughes, has garnered rave reviews from local, national, and music press with their witty interpretations of mainstream opera. This gala concert offers the perfect opportunity for first-time opera goers and experienced aficionados alike to hear many favourite moments from the great operas, in a friendly, non-formal setting.

Sarah will be joined by international tenor Nicholas Sales (Royal Opera House, Opera North), baritone Thomas Eaglen (Opera North) and mezzo soprano Serenna Wagner (English National Opera), well known to Southport audiences from her solo performances at The Atkinson in Eugene Onegin and Don Giovanni.

The programme will include excerpts from favourite operas and musicals; La boheme, The Merry Widow, The Barber of Seville, Don Giovanni, Carmen, Tosca, and many more.

Heritage Opera make a triumphant return to Ayrshire with A Passion for Opera – a fabulous tour of the operatic and musical theatre world. Critically acclaimed for their witty interpretations of mainstream opera on a local and national level, this concert offers the perfect opportunity for first-timers and experienced buffs alike to hear many favourite moments from the great operas such as La Traviata, Madame Butterfly, Carmen, The Barber of Seville, The Pearl Fishers, Gilbert & Sullivan and many more in a friendly, non-formal setting. An array of top-class professionals take to the stage including; Sarah Helsby Hughes (Opera North, D’Oyly Carte), Nicholas Sales (ROH, Opera North), Thomas Eaglen (Opera North), Serenna Wagner (ENO), and Ayrshire’s own Aimee Louise Toshney.

A Passion for Opera takes you on a fabulous tour of the operatic and musical theatre world. The singers are all Heritage Opera regulars, each one a professional soloist. The fabulous singing is accompanied with grand piano.

The singers are all top-class professionals; soprano Sarah Helsby Hughes, tenor Nicholas Sales (ROH, Opera North), baritone Thomas Eaglen (Opera North) and mezzo soprano Serenna Wagner, all accompanied by whiz-kid pianist Benjamin Cox, fresh from his stint as MD from the acclaimed west-end ‘pie-shop’ production of Sweeney Todd.
The programme will include excerpts from favourite operas and musicals; Rigoletto, La Traviata, Madame Butterfly, Carmen, The Barber of Seville, The Pearl Fishers, Porgy and Bess, Gilbert & Sullivan, and many more.
