Verdi’s towering opera tells a tragic tale. Rigoletto, jester to a debauched Duke, keeps his master well supplied with fresh conquests. As a web of court intrigue tightens around him,Rigoletto finds himself the victim of a grave curse, but it is his carefully protected daughter Gilda who will suffer.
Heritage Opera – Northwest England’s professional touring opera company is delighted to present a new production of this dark and wicked opera, which includes some of Verdi’s finest and most recognisable melodies, including the tenor aria “la donna è mobile” and the soprano aria “Caro nome”.
A cast of 12 is led by the renowned Australian baritone Simon Thorpe in the title role.
Sung in Italian with English surtitles.
